The goal of Patch Management is to keep the components installed on the network - hardware, software and services - up to date with the latest patches.
Patch Management is an important part of keeping the components of the network available to the end user. Without regular patching, the network could slow down and become affected by viruses and spyware, which would compromise the reliability, availability and security of the ICT services.
