This site displays results from the Customer Satisfaction Survey of ICT in Schools conducted in November and December 2001.

The survey was commissioned by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) and was carried out for Becta by the Consumers' Association Research and Testing Centre and Maritz Research.

Primary and secondary schools in England were asked about their satisfaction in relation to five areas of ICT: desktop computers, portable computers, equipment suppliers, technical support services and internet services.

Results are presented for each of these five areas separately. In addition, schools were also asked a range of more general questions about their ICT provision. These concerned topics such as purchasing policies and the main problems schools experience with their ICT systems. Findings from these questions are presented in the final 'Other results' section.

The Consumers' Association Research and Testing Centre is the leading consumer research organisation and consultancy in the UK.

Maritz Research is a leader in the area of measuring customer satisfaction and experience. The company has wide experience of conducting research in the Public Sector, and for leading commercial organisations.
